Lider – Walmart

Supermarket serving the west area of the capital Santiago, was reinaugurate to increase the commercial area to 20,000 m2 and allow more diverse offers in electronic, tools, and toys area. The new areas were designed using long span steel moment frames, and braced frames in the perimeter.

 

Also, review of the footing design was done where a combined system of individual footings and beams was used to distribute the loads among an interconnected set. The connections were modified to have a ductile behavior under seismic events.
