Rockbreaker

This study was prepared at the request of Sandvik-Chile and concerns the inspection of the anchor bolts of the XL1020 Rammer hammer, a rock crusher, which is be installed in the primary crusher building at this plant. The circular base of the hammer was anchored to the reinforced concrete wall with 24 bolts, each 40 mm in diameter.

To determine the stress on each bolt, a 3D model and FEA of the hammer base, including the base plate and bolts, was created and subjected to operating loads, self-weight, and seismic loads.
