Project Overview
This industrial property, located in the rural area of Peñaflor, is a two-story masonry building dating back to 1920. The structure was damaged by the 2010 earthquake, primarily suffering extensive wall cracking and shear failure in the columns.
The second floor houses the processing area, where the machinery and equipment for sorting and cleaning walnuts.
UCansteng carried out the structural rehabilitation of the property, including the
replacement of masonry walls, the installation of braced steel frames to support the equipment and reinforce the structure, and the restoration of the structural capacity of the
damaged columns with steel plates.
