Hail Creek Project
Project Overview
The coal stockpiling equipment was added to enhance the stockpile capacity of the mine to over 8 million of metallurgical and thermal coal per year. Hail Creek Coal Mine is located within the Bowen Basin at Hail Creek in the Isaac Region, Central Queensland, Australia. The structure consists of a truss tower, conveyor/catwalk, and the cantilevered stockpiling
equipment. The structural system of the support tower is combined with cables to provide the stability to the cantilever part of the conveyor.
UCansteng provided the independent structural review of the design through an independent model in which were analyzed the basic loads, load combinations, structural system, cable behavior, and local and global stability
